STUDENTS AND PARENTS, PLEASE READ OUR SCHOLARSHIP MONTHLY CRITERIA. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND OUR CRITERIA AND SUBMIT AN APPLICATION. SECOND, ALL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED ON THEIR MONTHLY PARTICIPATION IN OUR MONTHLY ESSAY AND ART CONTEST OR ANY OF OUR MONTHLY ACTIVITIES. *

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS' CRITERIA

Barbara Jordan Endeavors Ambassador Program
6th Grade- 11th Grade

  • All students must complete an application on the SAFE Diversity website at www.safediversity.org. Students and parents must sign the application acknowledging they have read and understood the criteria. After submitting your application, the student must send a headshot with white background to safediversity@gmail.com

  • All Students, their parents, or a family member must attend a Safe Diversity Boot Camp in August. After completing the boot camp, the student, parent, and/or guardian agree they will attend 2 Fall Workshops/Zoom, 2 Spring Workshops/Zoom, and 2 Summer Workshop/Zoom each year. Students and parents MUST open and respond to all text messages, emails, and e-blasts.

  • If the student misses 3 workshops, they are ineligible for Book Scholarship. Their spot will be given to the next student on our waiting list.

  • During their 6 workshops for the year, the student must participate in the monthly Essay and Art Contest. Students will submit a 200-word typed essay and art with the name and name of their school. On the left side of the paper, the student’s name (first initial and last name), and on the right-side picture of their headshot. It must be submitted by DUE DATE posted each month by 12:00 PM-midnight. Email: safediversity@gmail.com. If you are a monthly contest winner, you will do a one-minute video to thank sponsors and Safe Diversity.

  • The Barbara Jordan Endeavors $200 Book Scholarship Recipients will be announced at the August workshop of each year. The Book Scholarship recipients must be present at the Scholarship Presentation in August. Students who don’t does not attend forfeit their Book Scholarship.  They must also attend the Blue Carpet Virtual Gala with their parents.

  • Ambassadors must have 60 community service hours by July of each year.  We provide opportunities for the students to achieve these hours.  If hours are from another organization, the student must submit a form(s) with hours and signature.

  • We want to ask all students, parents, and family members to help promote the SAFE Diversity Ambassador Program on any social media they may have. Please tag Safe Diversity in any pictures you post. #STAYSAFE

3-Pillar Scholarship Program- 12th Grade

  • All Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Students will demonstrate professional leadership skills, honesty, and integrity, dress professionally, and do community outreach services in their community. 

 

  • All students must apply on SAFE Diversity’s website at www.safediversity.org. Students and parents must sign the application acknowledging they have read and understood the criteria. After submitting your application, the student must send a headshot with white background to safediversity@gmail.com. Scholarship applicants and parents MUST open and respond to all texts, emails, and e-blasts. 

 

  • Senior applicants MUST participate in monthly essay and art contests. They will submit a typed 200-word essay and art. On the left side of the paper, the student’s name (first initial and last name), and on the right-side picture of their headshot.  It must be submitted by DUE DATE posted each month by 12:00 PM-midnight.  If you are a monthly contest winner, you will do a one-minute video to thank sponsors and Safe Diversity.
  • The Senior Scholarships will be announced at the July monthly workshop each year. The Senior Scholarship recipients must be present at the Scholarship Presentation in August. If the student does not attend, they will forfeit their scholarship. 
  • Senior applicants and/or their parents or a family member must attend 3 out of 4 Fall Workshops/Zoom, 3 out of 4 Spring Workshops/Zoom, and must attend 2 out of 3 Summer Workshop/Zoom each year.  If the student misses 3 workshops/Zoom, they will be ineligible for the Senior Scholarship.  Their spot will be given to the next student on our waiting list.   They must also attend the Blue Carpet Virtual Gala with their parents.              
  • Senior applicants must contact and interview a corporation or small business (no non-profit organizations) about their 3-Pillar Diversity and Inclusion and Equality for All in their business. The senior applicant will submit a typed 200-word essay in May each year.

      • Community Relation

 

  • All Senior 3-Pillar Scholarship Recipients must verify their college enrollment, a certificate training, or entrepreneurship certificate to the SAFE Diversity’s email no later than August of each year. For funds to be presented at Scholarship Presentation.
  • We would like to ask all students, parents, and family members to help promote the SAFE Diversity 3-Pillar Scholarship Program on all social media they may have. Please tag Safe Diversity in any pictures you post. #STAYSAFE

College Ambassador Scholarship Program

  • All College Scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA. Students will demonstrate professional leadership skills, honesty, and integrity, dress professionally, and do community outreach services in their community.

  • College Students must fill out an application at www.safediversity.org.  College Students must sign the application acknowledging they have read and understood the criteria. After submitting your application, the student must submit a headshot with white background to safediversity@gmail.com

  • College Students will attend a Boot Camp in August each year. After completing the Boot Camp, college ambassadors agree that they will attend 1 Fall Workshop/Zoom, 1 Spring Workshop/Zoom, and 2 Summer Workshops/Zoom each year.

  • If 2 workshops/zooms are missed, you will be ineligible for a scholarship.

  • College Ambassadors must participate in essays in the month of their choice. The student will submit a typed 200-word essay. On the left side of the paper, the student’s name (first initial and last name), the name of the college they attend, and on the right side, a picture of their headshot. It must be emailed to SAFE Diversity by the DUE DATE posted each month by 12:00 PM-midnight.  Email to safediversity@gmail.com. If you are a monthly contest winner, you will do a one-minute video to thank sponsors and Safe Diversity.

  • If 2 monthly essays are not submitted, the student will be ineligible for a scholarship.
